- '19 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD Momentum
Hey All,
Sorry that this is my main 1st post, but I also posted for help on SwedeSpeed.
Bought a 2019 XC60 T6 AWD Momentum for my wife a couple years ago. For the last 3-4 months, we've been having issues with all key fobs not locking/unlocking the car, not recognized as being in the car, and only being able to start the center console key spot.
I've been doing tons of research on this, and yes, I've replaced the batteries in each fob (not with Amazon brand and no battery terminals are bent) and tried this with my phone inside the house, so not near me. Neither of my key fobs (nor my red valet fob) appear to unlock/lock the car/open the trunk when I click the buttons or touch the sensors on the door handles about 90% of the time. I did reassign the key's profiles and that seemed to work for about a week, now they're not working again.
I try holding down the fob buttons, clicking them multiple times in a row, etc. After trying for sometimes up to 1.5-2 minutes the car will all of a sudden lock/unlock and respond to the fob. When I get it the car only starts about 10% of the time, without me placing it in the "key spot" in the center console, and usually tells me "key not detected".
They car just hit 38k miles and is out of warranty. The only potential solution that I've seen from older threads was to have the fob completely replaced. Is there a sensor/module that could be failing that may need to be replaced as well? I've seen a couple of mentions of having door handles replaced that was not sensing coding - none of my door handles or trunk handle/foot sensor are working when this happens.
I've heard mention of a TCAM unit that may be faulty. I've had no luck finding a part # for that, or where it's located. If that's the issue, I'd love to attempt to replace it myself or worse case point a specialist in that direction.
That being said, I'm relatively good with self maintenance, but I'm wondering if I need to finally seek out a Volvo Specialist shop or dealer. Any thoughts & thank ya'll so so much for your help.
